Sideloader Training - Training & Refresher

Choose the course that best matches your current experience and competency level, from hands-on training for new operators, through to refresher training and formal Unit Standard assessment for experienced operators. See Unit Standard training and assessment course  here 

Which course is right for you?

Training

Hands-on training using the equipment, theory and practical training. Recommended for operators new to sideloaders. Once you're confident with the equipment, we recommend booking a Unit Standard course to formalise your competency.

Refresher

For operators who have completed the Unit Standard within the last 3 years. Ensures your competency stays current and meets industry best practice.

 

Prerequisites

  • As the course includes a practical workplace component, it is best delivered at the participant’s workplace.
  • Drivers must hold a current full driver licence appropriate to the class of vehicle they will be operating.
  • To attend the Refresher training, trainees must have the unit standard 17679.

Course Numbers and Pricing

Training:

  • $900 + GST for 1–2 trainees (5 hours)
  • $1800 + GST for 3–6 trainees (full day)

Refresher Training: 

  • $900 + GST for 1–6 trainees (half day)

Course Duration

Training and assessment: 5–8 hours, depending on the number of trainees.

  • Training and assessment is conducted on one brand of Sideloader. If multiple brands are being used, additional time may be required.
  • Refresher training: Allow up to half a day.

Equipment Requirements

You will need to provide the following equipment and facilities for the course:

  • A sideloader capable of lifting full containers.
  • A vehicle or trailer capable of being loaded by a sideloader.
  • One container.
  • Lifting chains with a current Certificate of Inspection (mandatory)
  • Provide a safe working area suitable for the training and assessment.
  • A room suitable for the theory component

What happens after you finish the course

  • We will issue an electronic certificate of achievement and a wallet card.
